The objectives of the civil engineering program are to produce graduates, who:

1. are trained thoroughly in analysis, including the mathematical and computational methods appropriate for civil engineers to use when solving problems.

2. have developed the skills necessary to formulate civil engineering problems and to design civil engineering systems, to think creatively, to synthesize information, to work collaboratively, and to communicate effectively, in at least four of the major civil engineering areas: environmental, structures, transportation, and water resources.

3. are able to use current experimental and data analysis techniques for civil engineering applications.

4. are prepared for successful civil engineering careers & life-long learning.

5. have an understanding of their professional and ethical responsibilities.
