The Dr. Samuel P. Massie Chair of Excellence Professorship

The Dr. Samuel P. Massie Chair of Excellence Professorship program, funded by the Department of Energy (DOE)/National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), is established for creating a model research atmosphere in environmental engineering to complement the academic program in civil engineering.

 

The National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI)

The Southern University Summer Transportation Institute, funded by FHWA and South Carolina State, began in 1995. The four week non-residential program focuses on introducing rising 10th and 11th grade students to various opportunities available in the transportation industry. The institute offers a wide range of activites concentrating on transportation of humans and cargo on land, water, and air.

 

The Southern University Institute for Transportation Studies (SUITS)

The Southern University Institute for Transportation Studies, funded by CN (Canadian National Railway), offers curriculum to students with training addressing all modes of transportation, as well as planning, management and safety issues.
