Engineers Week Awards
In order to recognize students, educators and staff that have made outstanding contributions to the engineering education and profession, a number of awards are presented. The awards celebrate and acknowledge the part engineering colleges play in our complex world.  Awards are presented at the last day of the E-Week activities.

Outstanding Undergraduate Student

The Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award honors the achievements of a distinguished undergraduate student in each programs in the SUBR College of Engineering. The recipients will be selected on the basis of academic excellence, leadership, creativity, research within their academic department and outstanding service to the College, University or community.

Outstanding Graduate Student

The College of Engineering Outstanding Graduate Student Award honors the achievements of a distinguished graduate student in the College of Engineering. The recipient will be selected on the basis of their academic excellence, research contributions and service to the College, University or community.

Outstanding Teaching Award

 The award, which focuses on outstanding classroom performance, recognizes teachers of engineering and engineering technology students and serves as an incentive to make further significant contributions to teaching. The guidelines for the selection process are based on developing or established patterns of distinguished teaching and/or exceptional innovation in teaching methods, course curriculum design.  The E-Week Committee follows these established guidelines to select an outstanding faculty from each department.   These distinguished faculty members are presented with a plaque and publicly honored. Their names are thereafter added to the College of Engineering Wall of Fame.

Researcher of the Year Award

The college honors faculty members who are outstanding scholars.   The ‘Researcher of the Year’ award is presented to a faculty member who has outperformed his/her colleagues and satisfies the set requirements in GRANSTMANSHIP, PUBLICATIONS, PRESENTATIONS and RESEARCH MENTORING.  The Researcher of the Year is awarded a certificate, prepared by the Dean of Engineering, and a $500 honorarium to recognize the meritorious service rendered in research, scholarship, or creative activity of faculty members.

Outstanding Staff Member Award

In recognition of the contributions of staff members of the college, an Outstanding Staff Member Award is presented.  The criteria used for the selection of the Most Outstanding Staff Member Award will be the quality performance of those persons who significantly contribute to 1) improving productivity, 2) increasing efficiency and effectiveness and 3) improving internal customer service. The nominee need not satisfy all four criteria outlined above; it is only required that an employee shows outstanding performance in at least one of these areas.
