Engineering Student Organizations
The following list of engineering organizations describes the variety of student groups that we have in the College of Engineering. Find the one (or more than one) that is right for you, and go get involved! Feel free to stop by any of these offices and introduce yourself. The members will be glad to meet you. Also, keep your eyes open for flyers and information about the organizations.
Civil Engineering Organizations
American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
ASCE is the primary professional society in the US focusing on civil engineering and is the world's largest engineering society. ASCE produces a monthly civil engineering news magazine and other technical publications. It also hosts conferences, seminars, and competitions.

The Institute of Transportation Engineers is an international individual member educational and scientific association. Electrical Engineering Organizations
IEEE
The IEEE is the world's largest technical society, bringing members access to the industry's most essential technical information, networking opportunities, career development tools, and many other exclusive benefits. The IEEE organization at UNT comprises students from the departments of engineering technology, electrical engineering and computer engineering.

Eta Kappa Nu
Eta Kappa Nu is a unique membership organization dedicated to encouraging and recognizing excellence in the electrical and computer engineering field. Members consist of students, alumni, and other professionals who have demonstrated exceptional academic and professional accomplishments.

Mechanical Engineering Organizations
ASME is a professional organization focused on technical, educational and research issues of the engineering and technology community. ASME promotes the art, science and practice of mechanical and multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences, and promotes and enhances the technical competency and professional well-being of our members through quality programs and activities in mechanical engineering.

PI TA SIGMA
Pi Tau Sigma is a Mechanical Engineering Honor Society, instituted in order to establish a closer bond of fellowship among its members which will result in mutual benefit to those men and women in the study and in the profession of mechanical engineering.

Electronics Engineering Technology
Tau Alpha Pi
TAP was founded in 1953 and is the national honor society for engineering technology. Tau Alpha Pi recognizes high standards of scholarship among students in engineering technology programs and promotes and encourages scholastic achievement by offering outstanding engineering technology students membership in the society.
National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)
A student branch of the professional organization designed to reach out
to minorities in the areas of engineering and applied sciences.

Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
SWE sponsors programs focused on women's issues in engineering and works to encourage K-12 girls to have an interest in engineering and science.
