SET Camp

Science, Engineering, & Technology Camp

The Science, Engineering, & Technology (SET) Camp is a new camp for middle school (grades 6-8) students that offer interactive, hands-on science and technology experiences.  Southern University is the host site for the SET Camp scheduled for four weeks starting in mid June.  SET Camp will introduce students to the fields of robotics, engineering, and computer programming. During the afternoons students will experience other camp activities to include swimming, sports aerobics, music, arts, and crafts.  Students must complete the registration form; submit current grades, and a letter of recommendation from a current teacher in order to enroll.  A non- refundable registration fee of $300 is required.  Camp hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.  Weekly field trips will be held during the camp.  The SET Camp is funded by ExxonMobil Corporation through its participation in the American Business Collaboration.

Join us at Southern University College of Engineering this summer when we embark on a new summer experience for students ages 11-14. Each week campers will be able to learn and experience new things. Approximately half of the day is spent working on the science module and the other half devoted to traditional camp activities. Campers might spend the morning designing a robot and then the afternoon swimming or going on a field trip.
