Department of Mechanical Engineering
Mechatronic Laboratory

Purpose of the Lab: This laboratory is used in conjunction with the Merchatronics (MEEN 464) course. Mechatronics is the synergistic combination of mechanical engineering, electronics, control engineering and computer science all integrated through the design process. Mechatronics is essential in the design of intelligent products; it allows engineers to transform their conceptions into reality. The purposes of this laboratory are:

  1. To let the students to acquire integrated knowledges of modelling, analysis, control techniques, computer simulation, hardware design & implementation. Students will have a chance to build a mechtronic product such as a simple robot.
  2. To provide the facilities for students' final projects.
  3. To develop new products for high technology industries.

Equipment/Apparatus: The following experimental set-ups are available as mostly self-contained units:

Experiments Conducted:

Experiment 1
Experiment 2
Experiment 3
Experiment 4
Experiment 5
Experiment 6
